Sticky Honey Chicken Wings

Sticky Honey Chicken Wings

“These baked honey garlic chicken wings are sweet, sticky, and rich in Asian flavors of ginger and soy. Chicken wings cooked this way are called buffalo wings.

Honey-garlic chicken wings are delicious. They’re sweet and sticky, and they’re the perfect addition to any buffet or picnic. They baked these chicken wings until crispy and then coated them with garlic and honey sauce. The buffalo wings you find in restaurants here in America are deep-fried to make them very crispy. I’m not a big fan of fried food, and I love that there’s an alternative that still brings you the authentic buffalo wing experience. You have the option to deep-fry, air-fry, or bake them.

Genuine buffalo wings are cut in a particular way, so we need to start by cutting the chicken wings into three distinct parts known as “the tip,” “the flap,” and “the drumette.” We will discard the tips of the wings.

The secret to making crispy homemade chicken wings is

Pat them dry with paper towels before coating them in flour.
Make sure the flour is just a light coating (not clumpy or dense).
Make sure the oven is hot before putting them in, so the skin becomes golden quickly.
You can change this recipe to suit your family and friends and use any type of sauce, from barbecue to simple salt and pepper. The most important thing to do is to get the chicken wings crispy before coating and serving them.

1. Preheat the oven to 220°C / 425°F.
2. Pat the wings dry with paper towels until completely dry.
3. Combine the flour, salt, and pepper, then toss the wings in the flour mixture to lightly coat. Shake off excess flour and brush the wings with olive oil.
4. Line a shallow baking tray with foil and then place parchment paper on top. Arrange the chicken wings in a single layer and bake for 35 minutes, turning the wings after 20 minutes.
5. Meanwhile, combine the sauce ingredients in a saucepan. Bring the sauce to a boil, stirring often. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the sauce is thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
6. Remove the wings from the oven and coat them with the sauce. Return them to the oven for 10 minutes, turning them after 5 minutes.
7. Allow the wings to cool for 10 minutes. As the sauce cools, it thickens. Stir the wings every few minutes to further coat them with the thickening sauce.
8. Serve with a simple salad and plenty of napkins!”
