Bow-tie pasta 320 g
Cherry tomatoes 250 g
Tuna in oil (drained weight) 200 g
Buffalo mozzarella 200 g
Pitted black olives 50 g
Basil 10 leaves
Extra-virgin olive oil as needed
Salt as needed
Pepper as needed

HOW TO PREPARE MEDITERRANEAN PASTA SALAD

Classic Macaroni Salad

1. To prepare the Mediterranean pasta salad, first cut the mozzarella into small cubes.
2. Let it drain in a colander to eliminate excess liquid.
3. In the meantime, bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the bow-tie pasta for 3 minutes less than shown on the package.
4. Drain the pasta well and transfer it to a bowl.
5. Dress it with a drizzle of olive oil and mix well.
6. Then set it aside. In the meantime, prepare the rest of the ingredients. Wash and cut the cherry tomatoes into quarters.
7. Halve the olives.
8. Shred the drained tuna fillets.
9. Tear the basil leaves into small pieces with your hands.
10. Now you are ready to assemble the dish. Take the bowl with the pasta and add the cherry tomatoes, olives, drained mozzarella, and tuna.
11. Mix well to combine everything and season with salt and pepper to taste.
12. Your Mediterranean pasta salad is ready to be served.

STORAGE

We recommend it to consume the Mediterranean pasta salad immediately. If you prefer to prepare it in advance, it is better to add the tomatoes and mozzarella at the last minute to prevent them from releasing their liquid.

TIP

To ensure that the pasta holds its shape perfectly, always choose a short format and cook it for about 3 minutes less than shown on the package (depending on the brand of pasta). If you prefer, you can cool it under running water, but keep in mind that it will lose some of its flavours.

To make the Mediterranean pasta salad even more colorful, you can opt for a mix of red, yellow, and green cherry tomatoes!

You can replace the buffalo mozzarella with fraudulent, always taking care to drain the excess liquid.

Instead of black olives, you can use baked olives for a more particular flavor!
